Lone Star State DL Xavier Ukponu sets LSU official visit
2025 Denton (Tex.) Guyer defensive tackle Xavier Ukponu took an LSU unofficial visit earlier this spring and on Tuesday, he announced his official visit date. The three-star prospect will be at LSU June 21, he said on Twitter.
The 6-3, 290-pound defensive tackle saw what he wanted to see from LSU defensive line coach Bo Davis, who has recruited him since he was at Texas. Davis is building a strong relationship with him.
“Watching coach Bo coach with the the intensity he brings, sitting and talking with him was invaluable,” Ukponu said. “He told me that they are slim on DTs as I can see and I can come in with a chance to make an impact. He said that LSU doesn’t want me, that they need me. I liked his intensity and he is a really funny guy to talk to.”
LSU head coach Brian Kelly kept it light with him when they chatted. Ukponu wants a decision before his senior season.
