Lone Star State OT Ory Williams signs LOI with LSU
2024 San Marcos (Tex.) offensive tackle Ory Williams committed to LSU this summer and on Wednesday, he signed his National Letter of Intent.
The Tigers beat out Florida, Texas, Texas A&M and numerous others for the 6-7, 300-pound offensive lineman.
On his official visit, LSU offensive line coach Brad Davis impressed Williams with his plan for him. The Tigers hosted him June 17 for an official visit. He also took Florida and Texas A&M official visits.
“It was great,” Williams told On3 after his visit. “He really showed me what he has set up for my development plan. It was nice. He’s already took that step to show me and help me progress and develop.”
Another piece that stood out to Williams was LSU sending players abroad for a service trip to Senegal.

“That really caught my eye,” he said, “because I want to do that and be that public figure to help people and look to for help.”
On3 National Director of Scouting and Rankings Charles Power weighed in with some thoughts on what Williams brings to the table.
“He’s over 6-foot-7 and is 300 pounds and has plus-length at the position with 34.5″ arms,” Power said before Williams’ senior season. “He’s a ‘first off the bus’ type, physically. I think he some intriguing indicators that point to the developmental upside. I think Ory has aways to go as a football player. He missed his sophomore year due to transfer rules, so he hasn’t played a ton. But he has shown continued improvement. He looked better in the spring that he did as a junior. So, I think he’s a guy whose arrow is pointing up as he continues to play more.”
According to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies, Williams ranks as the No. 493 overall prospect in the nation, No. 28 offensive tackle in the country and No. 79 prospect in Texas.
