Louisiana DB Ashton Stamps stays home to play for LSU
2023 Metairie (La.) Archbishop Rummel defensive back Ashton Stamps committed to LSU, landing the Tigers a quality in-state prospect.
LSU offered after multiple terrific camp showings in Baton Rouge this summer. He returned for an unofficial visit, where the Tigers wrapped up his commitment.
LSU landed him over offers from the likes of Missouri, Tulane, Louisiana Tech and others. He’s the No. 64 overall safety and No. 38 prospect in Louisiana, according to the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.
On3 director of recruiting Charles Power identified Ashton Stamps as one of the top performers in LSU’s Elite Camp.

“Ashton Stamps looked like one of the top defensive backs on hand and walked away with an offer after his showing over the course of both days. The Metairie (La.) Archbishop Rummel product worked at corner and safety and looked natural at both spots. Stamps brings a nice combination of athleticism, length, functional movement and technical cover skills.”
