Louisiana DL Dominick McKinley lands LSU offer
Entering the week, head coach Brian Kelly and the LSU football staff had offered verbal scholarship to 10 Louisiana prospects from the 2024 class.
That number moved up to 11 by week’s end.
Kelly and LSU assistant Frank Wilson stopped in at Acadiana High in Lafayette and extended a verbal scholarship offer to junior defensive lineman Dominick McKinley.
McKinley landed Class 5A All-State Honorable Mention honors after a strong junior season. He finished the year with 86 tackles, 10 sacks, 18 tackles for loss, two interceptions and a touchdown against some of the state’s top competition.
McKinley, who played both end and tackle as a junior, is the third in-state defensive linemen the Tigers have offered this cycle. He joins Lafayette Christian Academy’s Melvin Hills and Westgate’s De’Myrion Johnson.
