LSU extended an offer to former New Orleans (La.) Warren Easton defensive lineman Shone Washington in September. Now the former Georgia Bulldog is headed to play for the Tigers, announcing his commitment on Monday.
Washington is the No. 29 overall JUCO prospect and fifth-ranked junior college defensive lineman.
The 6-4, 270-pound prospect was highly-touted coming out of high school. He had offers from all over, but since he was recruited, a lot has changed in Baton Rouge. He enjoyed his time overall when he was in town earlier this fall.
“I haven’t been to LSU in years,” he said. “It just felt like home.”
He had one tackle as a Bulldog, which came in his debut against Samford, his lone appearance for the National Champions.
Washington enrolled at East Mississippi Community College to get a year of playing time under his belt before bouncing back to a Power Five team. This year, he has 26 tackles, three tackles for loss and a sack in 11 games this season as EMCC rolled through competition.

According to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies, Washington ranked as the No. 70 defensive lineman and No. 29 prospect in Louisiana for the 2022 class.
At 6-foot-5, 315 pounds, Washington would be a nose tackle or defensive tackle addition. LSU has a pair of nose tackles on roster in juniors Jacobian Guillory and Jalen Lee. Defensive tackles Mekhi Wingo, Maason Smith and Jordan Jefferson are all draft eligible.
