LSU targets, Louisiana natives among Under Armour New Orleans Camp top performers

The Under Armour Next camp series made its way to Louisiana this weekend and saw a slew of local standouts and LSU recruits among the top performers in the field of participants from across the southeast.
Here are a few notes and clips from the event, hosted at Edna Karr.
UA MVP Winners
Three local New Orleans area standouts — Edna Karr cornerback Hayward Howard Jr., Holy Cross running back Ke’Rynn Smith and Destrehan receiver Greg Wilfred — and a one-time LSU defensive line commit JaReylan McCoy of Tupelo (Miss.) accounted for more than half the MVP Award Winners announced by Under Armour.
Howard and Wilfred were also among the standouts who caught On3 analyst Billy Embody’s eye at the event. “Howard showed he can cover with the best of them in Louisiana,” Embody wrote, referencing his “tremendous length for the corner position” and “strong coverage technique.” Meanwhile the “incredibly quick” Wilfred “made multiple plays from the slot with strong route running and speed.”
Other positional MVPs included 2026 Louisville quarterback commit Briggs Cherry (Chattanooga, Tennessee.), 2027 offensive lineman Ismael Camara (Gilmer, Texas) and 2026 linebacker T.J. White (Jackson, Miss.).

2026 UA Next All-America Invites
The seven additional invites doled out for the All-America game featured even more local flair with four Louisiana natives, all of whom hold LSU offers, and another two Tigers targets from neighboring Mississippi. Destrehan wide receiver Jabari Mack joined a trio of home-state defensive lineman in Edna Karr’s Richard Anderson, Ouachita Parish’s Dylan Berymon and University Lab’s Lamar Brown in landing invites. Three Mississippi natives earned invites as well: a pair of offensive linemen with LSU offers in 2027 Jackson Academy tackle Caden Moss and 2026 Holmes County tackle Donel Robinson Jr., plus speedy 2026 Kemper County running back Damarius Yates.
Brown, a talented two-way lineman for his Cubs, announced Friday a final four schools of LSU, Texas A&M, Florida State and Miami and once again impressed with his ability on both sides of the line. “He dominated at (offensive line) and was also able to be disruptive at defensive line,” wrote Embody, who tabbed Brown as his offensive MVP for the event. “Brown shut off opposing defensive linemen in drills with fantastic technique and was able to win numerous 1-on-1 reps at defensive line.”
Embody also praised LSU-committed Anderson’s “intense power and some quickness” in winning most of his reps and Berymon as looking “even stronger and slimmer than last year” as one of the event’s big winners.
