Louisiana WR Kylan Billiot signs with LSU

Over the summer, one of the biggest winners and risers in the state of Louisiana was wide receiver Kylan Billiot. His exceptional performance at LSU’s summer camps helped earn an offer from Cortez Hankton, LSU’s wide receivers coach, and he quickly jumped on the opportunity.
The Houma (La.) native shined in LSU’s 7-on-7 title game against Lafayette Christian Academy in front of LSU’s entire offensive staff and earned the offer right after the game.
“I brought it out in the championship game and then they offered me,” Billiot started. “I’m blessed. It’s my dream school. I knew I had to kill, so when I caught the ball in the back corner (of the end zone), I was excited. I know he (Hankton) seen it and so I knew it had to happen. They were pressing me, doubling me, all that …”
LSU knows the value of Louisiana receivers and the long line of productive players to show out in purple and gold and the hope is Billiot is next in line.
“They said I worked hard enough for it,” Billiot said. “I am blessed. It’s my dream school. It feels really, really nice for me to come to my dream school. This was definitely earned. It wasn’t given to me. For me to come (to LSU), it means a lot to me.”

Developing at LSU

Billiot has been a star on the basketball court at Terrebonne, but he’s only beginning to realize his potential on the football field as he continues to develop. Now, under Hankton and alongside several talented receivers, Billiot is a project that Hankton is excited to get his hands on in 2024.
“I transitioned from basketball to football my sophomore year,” he said. “I saw (coach) walk into the gym, and I knew it was that time. When he started talking to me about (college) recruitment, I was all in.”
“I played my freshman year, but didn’t take it as serious. I didn’t really get in. My 10th grade year I started, then my 11th grade year I started. I have been working. I have been really working to get this. So, this (offer and commitment) was really big.”
