Louisiana's new-look Top 10 following On3 Rankings update
There’s a new No. 1 prospect in the state of Louisiana, and he’s an LSU commitment whose stock continues to rise.
On Monday, On3 updated the On3 Top 300, as well as a number of three-star shuffling, following regular seasons for seniors around the country.
The Tigers have an On3 five-star commitment from Beaumont (Texas) offensive tackle Weston Davis, who flipped his commitment from the Texas A&M to LSU. As for the Bayou State, there’s still time for another five-star to emerge in LSU’s class.
With one more rankings update still to come from On3, here’s a look at what the latest shakeup did for the Top 10 in Louisiana – as well as some LSU commitments trending up in the state rankings.
1… Trey’Dez Green – TE – LSU commitment
Green has been dominant as a senior at Zachary High, and On3 rewarded the four-star with another bump in the rankings. Now, Green is On3’s No. 1 prospect in Louisiana, moving ahead of Acadiana’s Dominick McKinley. The latest rankings bumps pushed Green up to a 96 rating, and he’s sitting Nos. 1-2 alongside Caleb Odom as the best tight ends in America. Green remains the No. 1 tight end prospect on the On3 Industry Rankings. With Green now ranked No. 35 overall, and the final rankings expanding to 32 five-stars, there’s a chance the LSU commitment becomes a five-star in the final On3 update.
2… Dominick McKinley – DL – Texas A&M commitment
McKinley had held the top spot in the state rankings across multiple updates, but he’s now moved back to No. 2 as LSU commitment Trey’Dez Green took over the top spot in the Bayou State. Green remains a Top 50 prospect nationally.
3… Wardell Mack – CB – Texas commitment
For the second rankings update in a row, Mack slid back a couple spots and remains outside the national Top 50, though he held onto his spot as the No. 3 player in the state – but by a narrow margin as Evangel star defensive lineman Gabriel Reliford continues to climb up the rankings. Mack recently flipped his college commitment from Florida to Texas.
4… Gabriel Reliford – DL – Texas A&M commitment
Reliford has been excellent as both a junior and senior at Evangel, and now the four-star out of North Louisiana moved up again. This time, Reliford went from No. 71 to No. 59 in the On3 rankings. Reliford was already a Top 5 player in the state, but he’s now just five spots behind Mack to move into the top three in Louisiana. LSU remains in heavy pursuit of the Aggies commitment.
5… Dashawn McBryde – S – LSU commitment
The star out of Denham Springs moved into the No. 71 overall spot in the Top 100, which was previously occupied by Reliford. McBryde also moved up in the national safety rankings as he remains a Top 5 prospect in the Bayou State.
6… Joel Rogers – S – LSU commitment
After a steady senior season where Rogers continued to play both sides of the ball, Rogers stayed put as a four-star with a 91 rating as the No. 218 overall prospect in America and the No. 6 recruit in Louisiana. That gives the Tigers safety commitments from two of the state’s top six prospects.
7… Tylen Singleton – LB – LSU commitment
Singleton has been impressive as a senior at Many, and the On3 rankings team moved the four-star up 44 spots overall to No. 232 overall. Singleton also moved up to a 91 rating as he still holds a firm grip in Louisiana’s top linebacker recruit in the 2024 cycle.

8… Ju’Juan Johnson – CB – LSU commitment
Johnson remained a 4-star and Top 10 prospect in Louisiana as he continues his chase for history. With LCA moving through the LHSAA playoffs, the LCA quarterback has a chance to break Brock Berlin’s 1999 record for most yards on offense in the state’s history. Johnson doesn’t play cornerback for LCA, but he’s set to join the LSU cornerback room next season.
10… Bernard Causey – CB – LSU commitment
LSU’s most recent cornerback commitment moved from an 87 rating to an 89 rating, putting him on the verge of a four-star prospect with another rankings update still to come. The moves also pushed Causey from outside Louisiana’s Top 20 to the No. 9 prospect in the state. He also moved from outside the Top 100 cornerbacks to inside the Top 40 nationally.
10… Kylan Billiot – WR – LSU commitment
Billiot remains on the verge of four-star territory following his senior season at Terrebonne. His stats aren’t head-turning, but he’s operated in a limited offense with much production from the quarterback position. When it comes to a raw receiver who is still making the transition from basketball to football, there’s plenty of upside with the LSU commitment out of South Louisiana. Billiot is ranked as one of On3’s top wide receiver prospects with an 89 rating, meaning a fourth star is within reach.
The Lagniappe in Louisiana
*** John Curtis wide receiver and LSU commitment Michael Turner remained a Top 10 prospect in Louisiana and continues to knock on the door for the move to a four-star, and with the latest On3 update, Turner remains a four-star on the On3 Industry Rankings. Turner plays in the John Curtis veer offense, so he won’t get the traditional looks that most receivers have across high school. That said, he’s got great speed and impressed the LSU staff with a camp workout in June that led to an immediate offer handed out and commitment given from the Louisiana native.
*** After the Top 10, LSU is holding commitments from the No. 11 and No. 12 players in Louisiana in Turner and Destrehan EDGE rusher Kolaj Cobbins. That gives LSU commitment from 9 of the Top 12 prospects in Louisiana.
*** LSU commitments Khayree Lee and Ahmad Breaux remain Top 20 prospects in Louisiana with no movement to the pair’s ratings in the most recent On3 update.
*** LSU offensive line commitment Joseph Cryer got a ratings boost with the move from an 86 to an 87 rating. Cryer is one of five offensive linemen committed to LSU for the 2024 cycle.
