LSU and Alabama will face off on Sat., Nov. 4 at 6:45 p.m. CT on CBS, the SEC announced on Monday. Last year, the Tigers won an overtime thriller, 32-31, in Baton Rouge.

This year, Alabama sits at the top of the SEC West with LSU and Ole Miss having one loss in league play. It’s another massive matchup between the two rivals. If LSU wins, the Tigers could wind up in Atlanta once again.

In LSU’s 62-0 win over Army on Saturday in Tiger Stadium, the offense continued to shine. Defensively though, the Tigers were also able to take a step forward against an overmatched Army team.

“At first glance, you know, I thought our our individual techniques upfront were much better,” LSU head coach Brian Kelly said. “I thought we played with better pads, our gap integrity and gap control was pretty good on the defensive line. From an offensive line standpoint, we handle a defense that that does a lot of movement, and there’s a lot of stunting. So I’ll have to watch the film to get a better sense, I was really locked in more with the defensive line play. But again, I think Daniels was pretty clean upfront.

“There was one time that there was some pressure but I think all in all, I think we’re really getting the kind of offensive line and defensive line play that that allows you to be a very good football team.”

Alabama meanwhile scored 27 unanswered to beat Tennessee, 34-20, improving to 7-1 overall and 5-0 in league play. LSU heads to Tuscaloosa after the bye week and the Crimson Tide have a much-needed bye week as well.

“We have a bye week coming up. Probably need to get a little rest for some of our guys,” “Alabama head coach Nick Saban said. “We have more business to take care of in the future, but for right now, everybody should enjoy this. It’s a great win for us, we had a great atmosphere in the stadium. Our fans were fantastic. They had a huge impact on the game, in terms of the penalties at the end of the game and not allowing them to score.

“I can’t tell you how pleased and proud I am of everybody in the organization who puts a lot into it so we can have games like this, have atmospheres like this, and have the opportunity to compete like this. Really, really proud of our team, and it was a great team win. 27-0 in the second half, pretty good offense, and really good defense.”
