LSU and Alabama will kick off under the lights of Tiger Stadium on Saturday, Nov. 5 at 6 p.m. CT on ESPN, the SEC announced on Monday. The Tigers and Crimson Tide are battling for the lead in the SEC West with both teams sitting at 4-1 in league play.
With Alabama coming to town, the Tigers will have to slow last year’s Heisman Trophy winner Bryce Young. Against Ole Miss last game, LSU used terrific adjustments by defensive coordinator Matt House to slow down Jaxson Dart and the Rebels’ high-flying offense.
“I can’t give you all of those. They’re secrets,” Kelly said in his postgame press conference about adjustments. “I really would like to tell you there were a lot, but I think we just got a little bit more aggressive in talking to Matt (House) at halftime. Sometimes we tend to cover up some things that we feel like are weaknesses and they’re not really that weak. We just kind of said let’s go play. Probably a little bit more aggressive, maybe, in the second half and just let the guys play.”

When LSU lost to Florida State, the Tigers ripped off a few wins. When LSU lost to Tennessee, the Tigers have beaten two SEC foes in emphatic fashion. Kelly sees a team that’s tough and able to fight.
“I knew the DNA in the team from the very beginning, you know, you go back all the way to Florida State where we’re down and we fought all the way back in that game and obviously we didn’t execute an extra point,” Kelly said on Saturday. “But that team was poised to win that game. I kind of knew what we were about in that very first game that we played. It’s been who they are from the very, very first time that I stepped on this campus with this team is that they have fight in them.
“Now, all the other things —- consistency, execution, doing the little things on a day-to-day basis — that’s coming. I’ve said this on a number of occasions: we can’t just rely on just being great fighters and we’re not anymore. We’re executing at a high level. We’re exerting our will. Our best players are now starting to play their best football and they’re playing, quite frankly, with a lot of confidence right now. That’s a pretty good thing.”
