LSU among teams pushing for ex-Texas A&M commit Dre'lon Miller
2024 Silsbee (Tex.) wide receiver and Texas A&M commit Dre’lon Miller was in town for LSU vs. Auburn inside Tiger Stadium. Now he’s backed off his commitment to the Aggies, reopening his recruitment.
Miller’s father, Chris, told On3 LSU is among the teams firmly in the mix for his son. Florida, Colorado, USC and Texas A&M will also stay in the race.
“He just wanted a chance to open things up and take a closer look at everything,” Chris told On3 on Tuesday evening. “He wanted to find the best fit.”
The atmosphere for the SEC clash stood out in a big way and Dre’lon called the offense “explosive” after his visit. Now LSU’s got a chance to push for his commitment sooner rather than later, although his father said he’s not expected to make a decision until after his senior year.
“The atmosphere was crazy as always with a sold-out crowd,” Miller told On3. “Just the way they utilize their players and throw the ball around (stood out).”
How’d he describe the LSU offense after getting his first in-person look at the 2023 version?
“Explosive,” Miller said.
On Sunday, Miller and his family will get plenty of time in Baton Rouge so check back for more thoughts on the visit from the Top 100 prospect.

Miller is no stranger to Baton Rouge, having been to campus multiple times. This summer though, he pledged to the in-state Aggies over LSU, Miami, USC and numerous others.
LSU wide receivers coach Cortez Hankton went to Texas Southern with Miller’s father. Now, Hankton’s got Miller back on campus hoping the latest push pays off.
Miller checks in as the No. 78 overall player in the country, No. 16 wide receiver in the nation and No. 15 prospect in Texas, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.
Miller had an unforgettable junior season. He recorded 1,399 yards of total offense, 21 touchdown catches, 361 yards rushing and also made an impact on special teams. His Silsbee team is 7-0 and his senior season is one of the best in Texas. He’s caught 30 passes for 624 yards and eight scores.
