The LSU Tigers look to win their first Southeastern Conference matchup of the 2024 season when they take on the South Carolina Gamecocks on the road Saturday. On Wednesday, the SEC revealed the latest injury and availability report below.

When the Tigers take on South Carolina, they’ll have their hands full to defend against former On3 five-star Dylan Stewart. LSU’s offensive line is a veteran bunch that’ll have to account for him.

“Stewart is a pure pass rusher. That doesn’t mean he can’t defend the run,” Kelly said. “I’m not saying that. But he is a guy who they want in there to get after the quarterback. We are going to be disciplined in our drops, and have to get the ball out on time. This is an SEC defensive front and they can get to the quarterback. In particular he can.”

The injury report also shared where things stand with Shane Beamer’s Gamecocks. His quarterback, LaNorris Sellers, is one of the reasons the Gamecocks are receiving votes after beating Kentucky in Week 2.

“There are going to be new things that we do this week because it fits LSU better than it did Kentucky. We try to keep the bulk of our offense the same week to week, run game and pass game. So there is a lot of carry over and continuity. The more you do something, the more comfortable and confident you are going to get at it,” Beamer told reporters. “I think he will just get more and more comfortable with those things. He showed what he can do. Begin comfortable, being confident in what we are doing where he knows where his answers are.

“He knows where to go with the ball. I thought he did a much better job Saturday of relaxing and going and making plays and just go play ball. That is what he will need to do on Saturday, for sure.”

Kelly is making sure his team is ready for the tough challenge that Sellers will present Saturday in Columbia, S.C.

“Sellers is a physical presence and a lot like Richardson that played at Florida. He has a cannon for an arm and can throw it 65 or 70 yards. He just reminds of that physical presence but he is a new starter,” Kelly said. “You are going to have to do some really good things to defend the quarterback and quarterback run game because they have the transfer from Auburn (Robby Ashford) as well. So that’s going to be important for us.”
