Derek Curiel 6, LSU Tigers take on Alabama Baseball in Baton Rouge, LA. Thursday, April 17, 2025.

LSU rebounded this past week on the field at Alex Box Stadium and Monday morning in the latest national college baseball polls.

The Tigers (34-7, 12-6) climbed four spots back up to No. 4 in the Baseball America rankings and two spots each to No. 5 and No. 7 on the USA Today Coaches’ D1Baseball.com lists, respectively, after a midweek rout of McNeese State (28-7) and a series win vs. Alabama (31-10, 9-9).

Next for coach Jay Johnson’s squad: Tuesday vs. Northwestern State and a weekend series beginning Friday vs. top-10 Tennessee (33-7, 12-6), which came in Monday at No. 5 and No. 6 for Baseball America and D1Baseball, respectively.

Texas (33-5, 16-2) holds the top spot on all three lists for the second straight week.

Though recent weeks have seen climbs from some ACC programs and independent Oregon State, the Longhorns and Tigers are among eight SEC teams in the top 12 of the Baseball America poll, top 13 of USA Today and top 14 of D1Baseball’s.

Ten SEC programs represented the conference in each sets of rankings in all, heavily outpacing the ACC’s six in D1Baseball and USA Today and five in Baseball America for the top-represented league.
