LSU slipped only slightly in the national college baseball rankings Monday following its series loss at Texas A&M this weekend.

The Tigers (38-11, 15-9) landed at No. 3, No. 4 and No. 6, respectively, in the D1Baseball, USA Today (Coaches) and Baseball America polls after sitting previously sitting at No. 2 on all three lists.

LSU’s 1-2 trip to College Station, Texas, came on a weekend in which five of the SEC’s 10 ranked teams lost series — four to lower-ranked opponents — including top-ranked Texas (38-8, 19-5) dropped all three at Arkansas (37-7, 17-7).

The Longhorns also saw minimum impact in polls on the weekend of parity as they held onto their No. 1 spot for D1 Baseball and USA Today and slipped only to No. 2 for Baseball America.

Georgia (39-11, 15-9) overtook the top of the Baseball America rankings after taking care of business with a road sweep of last-place Missouri (13-34, 0-24).

The SEC once again boasts five top-10 teams on both lists — five of Baseball America’s top six and of D1 Baseball’s and USA Today’s top eight — as well as at least 10 of the top 25.

Florida (33-16, 11-13) re-entered Baseball America’s top 25 for the first time since Week 7 to push the conference’s representation there to 11 schools.
