Charles Turner, LSU’s starting center of the last two seasons, has declared for the 2024 NFL Draft, announcing his decision on Tuesday night on social media

“First and foremost, I want to thank God for all the blessings he has given me. Without him, nothing is possible. I want to thank my famiuly for all the sacrifices and commitment they have made for me to get where I am today. Lastly, I want to thank LSU. I could not have asked for a better college experience. To my coaches and teammates, I thank you for pushing me to be the best me I can be every day. The memories we hold are forever ingrained in my brain. With that being said, I am entering the 2024 NFL Draft!!!”

After not starting a game in the first three years at LSU, Turner emerged as the starter ahead of the 2022 season at center and held down the position for the entirety of the season. He held off stout competition ahead of the 2023 season and once again started every game for the Tigers at center in year five.

Turner was named LSU’s most improved player after the 2022 season and was complimented for his communication ability, consistency, and awareness at the position. He and Jayden Daniels were always on the same page and helped LSU build one of the best offensive lines in the country for 2023.

“It’s definitely heightened our senses of how good we are, but with coach Denbrock and coach Davis, they always preach good is not where we want to be. We want to be elite,” Turner said of the awards the offensive line was nominated for. “Until those awards come out, we work our hardest every single day to be elite in everything we do. We have great continuity. We all care about each other. We are all willing to go the distance for each other.

“It’s definitely been a fun ride.”
