2024 LSU commit and Chillicothe (Ohio) tight end Tayvion Galloway is a longtime pledge for the Tigers. Offensive coordinator Mike Denbrock is in Ohio to swing by Galloway’s high school during the evaluation period.

The four-star prospect is a leader in the 2024 recruiting class for the Tigers.

“I’m going after them whether they’re committed to other schools or uncommitted,” Galloway told On3 this spring. “I’m going after them to bring the best to BR. The BK effect is real. I was one of the first to buy in. You see what’s happening. It hasn’t slowed down since it’s started. You see what we did first year. Next year, we’re going to keep showing more.”

An active prospect with fans on social media, Galloway pegged the commitment to football down south that drew him to Baton Rouge.

“For real, I would say it’s the love and hospitality everybody does down south about football,” he said. “Everybody’s so committed to it. Even if you’re not a person going to LSU, everybody in the Baton Rouge and Louisiana area really bleeds Purple and Gold. I love that feeling of being able to play in front of guys like that.

“It’s all love with the fans. I love connecting with the fans, especially on Twitter. They love to show lots of love and I really appreciate that. You’re getting a dog.”

The SEC and competition LSU faces on a weekly basis was another big draw. The coaching staff, led by Brian Kelly, also played a big factor.

“For me, I love to go against great competition,” Galloway said. “I feel like steal sharpens steal so going against good people makes you even better. People from the SEC go to the NFL. They produce the best NFL guys because you’re playing against the best people week in, week out.”

According to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies, Galloway ranks as the No. 302 overall prospect in the country and No. 17 tight end in the nation. He picked the Tigers in June over offers from Auburn, Kentucky, Michigan, Michigan State and others.
