2024 Many (La.) linebacker Tylen Singleton committed to LSU on Saturday night, he announced. Check out the junior season highlights of the newest Tiger below.

He picked LSU over the likes of Arkansas, TCU, Tennessee and Texas A&M.

According to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies, Singleton comes in as the No. 147 overall prospect, No. 13 linebacker in the nation and No. 5 prospect in Louisiana.

Singleton is the third linebacker to commit to LSU in the 2024 cycle, joining four-star Xavier Atkins and three-star Davhon Keys. Destrehan four-star Kolaj Cobbins is also on board as a JACK linebacker.

LSU lands versatile prospect in Tylen Singleton

On3 director of scouting Charles Power said in May that the rankings team is monitoring his physical development. He’s playing linebacker at the next level and On3 will be watching his senior year unfold.

“I think he’s a good athlete, guy who runs well. He’s a little bit different than the others in that we have him ranked as a linebacker, kind of is a hybrid linebacker-safety,” Power said. “Want to see where he ends up from a size perspective and get a better picture of where he’s at.”

LSU’s recruiting Singleton as a nickel linebacker, someone suited for pass coverage and who has versatility. On3 agrees with that position for the four-star Louisiana standout.

“Like the athleticism and is a guy who’s active, back half defender and we like the upside as a guy who can continue adding size and playing as a hybrid linebacker-safety,” Power noted.

Singleton helped Many to a 12-0 record and the 2A state championship in 2020. Then in 2021, he tallied 75 tackles, four tackles for a loss and a sack, helping Many to another return to the state title game. And then as a junior, Singleton earned about every honor possible in Louisiana and guided Many to another state championship.
