LSU DB Jarrick Bernard-Converse selected in 2023 NFL Draft

LSU defensive back Jarrick Bernard-Converse was selected by the New York Jets in the 6th round with the No. 204 overall pick of the 2023 NFL Draft. This season in 13 games, he racked up 44 tackles, three pass breakups, and two interceptions.

Bernard-Converse, a Louisiana native, transferred to LSU to play out his final year of college eligibility.

A former Evangel Christian standout, Bernard-Converse made 48 tackles, 1.5 tackles for loss, 1.5 sacks, a quarterback hurry and 10 pass breakups in the 2021 season.

In 2020, the first team Academic All-Big 12 selection tied for the team lead with seven passes broken up. He ranked seventh on the team and first among OSU cornerbacks with 32 tackles, 27 of which were unassisted.

Bernard-Converse, a 6-1, 200-pounder, had a solid run with the Cowboys after enrolling in 2018, when he started the last nine games of the season.

Coming out of high school, Bernard-Converse ranked on the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies,, as a three-star prospect. He was the No. 96 safety in the nation and No. 46 prospect in Louisiana.

The 2023 NFL Draft is from Thursday, April 27 through Saturday, April 29 in Kansas City, Missouri. The event is at the plaza just outside of Union Station. The draft will be broadcasted throughout the weekend on both ESPN and NFL Network.
