LSU DT Jordan Jefferson drafted by Jacksonville Jaguars

LSU defensive tackle Jordan Jefferson has been drafted by the Jacksonville Jaguars with the No. 116 overall pick in the 4th round of the 2024 NFL Draft.

Jefferson joins LSU wide receiver Brian Thomas, Jr. and defensive tackle Maason Smith as Jaguars.

Jefferson transferred to LSU from West Virginia ahead of the 2023 season, and he went on to appear in all 13 games for the Tigers.

Jefferson made six starts at defensive tackle, closing out the year with a career-best 36 tackles. He also logged 7 tackles for loss and 2.5 sacks, a performance that ultimately led to an invitation to the annual Senior Bowl in Mobile (Ala.)

Jefferson signed with the Mountaineers out of high school in Florida as part of the 2019 class, spending 2019-22 at West Virginia. While at WVU, Jefferson appeared in 42 games with 17 starts. He finished his college career with 90 tackles, 21.5 tackles for loss and 6 sacks.

During his one season at LSU, Jefferson’s highlight moments included a fourth-quarter sack and a fumble forced against Wisconsin in the ReliaQuest Bowl and a career-best six tackles and a sack in a win over Florida.

Jefferson also earned Academic All-Big 12 honors in 2021 and 2022.

As a standout defensive lineman at Navarre High School in Florida, Jefferson was ranked as a three-star prospect after closing out his senior season with 60 tackles, including 42 solo stops, five sacks and 22 tackles for loss. He finished his career at Navarre with 27 games played, 115 tackles, 11 sacks, 35 tackles for loss, 26 quarterback hurries, 3 forced fumbles, 1 fumble recovery and 2 blocked field goals. Jefferson was also a state champion in wrestling.
