2025 Melbourne (Fla.) Eau Gallie defensive tackle Brandon Brown flipped to LSU from Texas, he announced on Friday. The four-star prospect had been committed to the Longhorns since December.

On3 ranks Brown as the No. 218 overall prospect, the No. 20 defensive lineman, and the No. 29 player in Florida. He also took official visits to Tennessee and Texas while programs like Florida and Miami also recruited him.

Brown is ranked as the No. 331 overall prospect, the No. 27 defensive lineman, and the No. 46 player in Florida in the On3 Industry Ranking, a proprietary algorithm that compiles ratings and rankings from all four primary recruiting media services.

His LSU official visit this summer stood out in a big way. Brown and his mother took a visit to LSU for the Spring Game as well. With his official visit, they spent even more time around the coaching staff in a family setting.

“What stood out was how family oriented everything was and going to eat breakfast at Coach Kelly’s house proved it even more,” his mother, Nyesha Brown, told On3. “There’s nothing I don’t like about it.”

When asked what’s to like about LSU, Nyesha had a two-word response, “Coach Bo.” LSU defensive line coach Bo Davis has made him a huge priority since his days at Texas.

“He’s authentic. Not gonna tell my son what he wants to hear but what he needs to hear,” Brown said. “I feel he’s the type to stay on his neck.”
