Jay Johnson gets another massive addition for LSU’s 2025 roster, this time with 6-foot-4 left handed pitcher Cooper Williams. Williams, from the class of 2024, decommitted from Texas A&M and flipped his commitment to LSU for the upcoming season, which he announced on social media.

“After lots of prayers and discussion amongst my family as well as people close to me I have decided to decommit from Texas A&M and spend the next 3 years at LSU. Eager to move forward in this next chapter of my life in Baton Rouge, Let’s Geaux!”

Williams is the No. 73 ranked player in the country and No. 12 left handed pitcher in the class on Perfect Game, making him a high-level prospect on a pitching staff that needed more left handed pitchers.

Here’s how Perfect Game summarized his game:

“Young bodied southpaw with tons of projection. Up to 93 mpg at PG national with a big slider and change up. Starter profile.”

Williams joins an exciting class of transfers and freshmen brought in to get the Tigers competitive on the mound in 2025.
