The SEC has released Thursday’s injury updates ahead of Saturday’s LSU vs. Arkansas game, and the release brought more clarity as to the status of LSU starting wide receiver CJ Daniels.

On Wednesday evening, Daniels was listed as “probable” on the injury report released by the SEC office in Birmingham.

24 hours later, Daniels was listed as probable to play against the Razorbacks. On Thursday evening, LSU head coach Brian Kelly maintained Daniels is trending towards a return to the field on Saturday in Fayetteville.

Daniels, who has not played since the South Alabama win two weeks ago, was a notable absence for LSU in a memorable 29-26 overtime win over No. 9 Ole Miss in Tiger Stadium this past weekend.

Prior to his injury, Daniels led all LSU’s wide receivers in snaps, which is an indicator of how much the staff trusts Daniels when it comes to playing multiple positions, stepping up as a consistent blocker and delivering on his targets each week. In five games played, the Liberty transfer caught 20 passes for 239 yards.

Despite missing the Ole Miss game, Daniels joins LSU’s top wide receiver Kyren Lacy as the lone wideouts who have eclipsed 300 snaps this season.

While Daniels is pacing towards suiting up vs. Arkansas, LSU remains without a number of players with season-ending injuries, the most recent being backup offensive tackle Tyree Adams. Adams, who underwent surgery this week, was officially listed as “out” on Wednesday’s initial SEC injury report.

The Tigers will continue to be without a pair of defensive starters in linebacker Harold Perkins and defensive tackle Jacobian Guillory, who are both set to miss the rest of the regular season. The same goes for running back John Emery Jr.

LSU wide receiver Chris Hilton was ruled out for Saturday’s road game against Arkansas after being listed as questionable on Wednesday. Hilton has been on the injury list each week so far this season, though he’s yet to appear in a game across the team’s 5-1 start.

Here’s the official SEC injury report for both LSU and Arkansas, which was released on Thursday evening. A final injury report will be released an hour before Saturday’s 6 p.m. CT kickoff in Fayetteville.

Arkansas starting QB is expected to return vs. LSU

Arkansas quarterback Taylen Green, who wasn’t listed on the Wednesday injury report, did not appear on Thursday’s injury report. Green suffered a bone bruise that caused him to leave the game in the win over Tennessee, though tests revealed it was not an MCL injury.

Razorbacks head coach Sam Pittman provided an update on Green during Wednesday’s SEC Coaches Teleconference.

“I have been encouraged about how he’s practiced,” Pittman said. “He’s still not full speed yet but we certainly think there’s a possibility that he can get there. We’ll have to wait and see there. Obviously we have two more practices and a walk, but have been encouraged about his progression this week.”

The Boise State transfer has accounted for 1,502 yards passing and five touchdowns, as well as 326 yards rushing and four touchdowns on the ground.
