LSU forward Mwani Wilkinson removes name from NCAA Transfer Portal
LSU forward Mwani Wilkinson removed his name from the NCAA Transfer Portal on Tuesday, according to On3’s Matt Zenitz. Wilkinson started 30 games for the Tigers last season.
Wilkinson averaged 4.0 points and 3.0 rebounds per game as a sophomore for LSU in 2021-22. He’s the first of the players under Will Wade who could return to the team under new head coach Matt McMahon.
Mwani Wilkinson has 44 starts in 61 games over his two seasons, which includes 14 games started as a true freshman after an impressive prep career. In 2020-21, he averaged 3.6 points and 2.7 rebounds in 17 minutes per game.
LSU added four transfers in Northwestern State big man Kendal Coleman and NC State guard Manny Bates along with Murray State backcourt teammates Justice Hill and Trae Hannibal. LSU also brought in former Murray State signee Corneilous Williams, a big man out of North Carolina.
