LSU head coach Kim Mulkey is tasked with reshaping the roster following the team’s Elite 8 loss to UCLA this past weekend, and the shuffling has begun.

LSU junior forward Sa’Myah Smith, who was part of LSU’s National Championship team as a freshman before missing her sophomore season with an ACL injury, was the first player to enter the portal after she returned to the court this past year to average 6.6 points, 6.4 rebounds, and 1.4 blocks per game.

Smith’s biggest moments came down the stretch when she posted double-double outings in the NCAA Tournament against both Florida State and North Carolina State. The Texas native played 22.2 minutes per game and in games against Florida State and NC State in the NCAA Tournament.

On Wednesday, LSU veteran guard Last-Tear Poa entered the NCAA transfer portal, On3’s Talia Goodman first reported.

Poa spent the past three seasons with the Tigers after transferring in from Northwest Florida State as one of the nation’s best junior college prospects. Like Smith, Poa went on to be a role player off the bench during LSU’s National Championship run during the 2022-23 season.

This past season, Poa appeared in 30 games with 15 starts, averaging 2.0 points and 1.9 assists after seeing an average of 12.8 minutes per game for LSU.

Poa’s biggest contributions by way of time on the court came one year ago when the Tigers had another deep NCAA Tournament run as she averaged 20.1 minutes per game. She finished the year with an average of 4.9 points, 3.0 assists and 1.1 steals.

With the recent ruling that JUCO seasons do not count against an NCAA player’s eligibility, Poa hasone year remaining to play. She has yet to reveal where her final college basketball will be played, though – at this stage – it won’t be in Baton Rouge.
