The On3 rankings team updated the 5-stars and more for the 2025 class as senior seasons wind down around the country – and LSU had another commitment bumped to a 5-star prospect.

On Monday morning, On3’s release of the new 5-stars included not one, but two commits for LSU secondary coach Corey Raymond.

5-star+ cornerback and LSU commit DJ Pickett remained the No. 1 cornerback in America, while fellow LSU Kade Phillips moved from outside the Top 50 and the No. 7 cornerback prospect to No. 23 overall and the No. 4 cornerback in America.

Now, Raymond has commitments from two of the Top 5 cornerbacks in the 2025 cycle, which is the immediate impact needed for a room in need of an influx of high-end talent.

While the current On3 rankings expanded to 25 5-star prospects, the final rankings ahead of February’s National Signing Day will include 32 5-stars.

That gives the Tigers the chance to add a fifth-star to a fifth commitment, which would continue to boost LSU’s class ranking.

Here’s what the On3 Rankings team said about keeping 5-star+ quarterback commit Bryce Underwood No. 1 overall, holding firm with Pickett and Harlem Berry as the No. 1 players at their position, and moving Phillips into the newest list of 5-star prospects.

1. QB Bryce Underwood

School: Belleville (Mich.)
Status: Committed to LSU
Scout’s Take: “Bryce Underwood is the top quarterback in what looks to be an uptick in talent at the position relative to the 2024 cycle. He has a very high-end combination of arm talent and athletic ability, and his physical tools are among the best you’ll see at this stage in the process. He has an explosive downfield arm, can drive the ball with extreme velocity to every level of the field. And he is a guy — who in addition to how well he has played to this point in his high school career — has a lot of room to continue improving. There’s a lot of untapped physical upside still there and room to grow in skill development. During his junior season, he threw for 40 touchdowns and two interceptions, ran for seven more touchdowns, and has only lost one game as a starter while playing at a high level. One takeaway from his film compared to others in this class is that in addition to his arm talent, he has excellent pocket movement. He senses pressure and responds to it in a really impressive way for a 16-year-old quarterback.” — Charles Power, On3 Director of Scouting and Rankings

6. CB DJ Pickett

School: Zephyrhills (Fla.)
Status: Committed to LSU
Scout’s Take: “It’s a very strong cornerback class, especially at the top, in the 2025 cycle. DJ Pickett projects being recruited as a corner, and he’s a unique prospect at that position. He’s very tall, north of 6’3 and probably closer to 6’4. He’s long and rangy and has elite length and has high-end athleticism and ball skills to go with that. His wingspan is 6’11 and runs a 10.6 in the 100 meters, so at a traits-based position, he registers as an elite prospect in that regard. When you see how he plays on Friday nights, it’s even more encouraging with more than 1,000 receiving yards and 15 touchdowns and also plays safety for his high school. He’s not afraid to be a physical run defender, and compared to the other cornerbacks in this class, he’s both the most physically gifted and the most physical. That’s a really encouraging combination, and while he still needs to convert to corner from a technical standpoint, we don’t have any concerns about that because of his movement skills and athleticism.” — Charles Power, On3 Director of Scouting and Rankings

18. RB Harlem Berry

School: St. Martin’s Episcopal (La.)
Status: Committed to LSU
Scout’s Take: “Harlem Berry is the most electric running back in the 2025 cycle, with the ability to be a game-changer in the passing game. He possesses elite burst and effortless movement skills. He transfers his outstanding top end speed onto the field in a functional way and is a threat to take it to the house on any touch. For a young back, he displays outstanding vision, reads blocks and bursts through the line to the second level. The game moves slow for him at the prep level. He has the ability to run through contact and shows balance that belies his size. During the summer prior to his senior season, he showcased advanced pass catching skills and could legitimately line up at receiver. — Cody Bellaire, On3 National Scout

23. CB Kade Phillips

School: Missouri City (Texas) Hightower
Status:
Committed to LSU
Scouting Summary
: “Kade Phillips has some of the best physical traits we’ve seen at the corner position in the 2025 cycle. This is a guy who has elite length and a big frame. At that size, he can really move. He was a state finalist in the long jump in Texas, and you see that athleticism on the field. We really like him as a corner. He has position versatility with the ability to play corner or safety at the next level, but we feel like the length and speed and ball skills he shows as a two-way player at the high school level really translates well to corner.” — Charles Power, On3 Director of Scouting and Rankings

Another LSU commit is knocking on the door to finish as a 5-star

LSU’s top remaining target on the recruiting trail is 5-star defensive lineman Jahkeem Stewart, who checked in at No. 25 overall on Monday’s On3 rankings. Stewart, who is still making visits after reclassifying into the 2025 class, will make his decision by December 4. LSU holds the On3 RPM lead.

Meanwhile, a current LSU commitment is already in 5-star range as the calendar moves closer to the reveal of On3’s final 32 5-star prospects.

Offensive line commit Carius Curne, who is the No. 1 prospect in Arkansas, moved up multiple spots and is now the No. 29 overall prospect in the country and No. 2 interior offensive lineman – a position the Tigers certainly need a boost at.

Here’s the breakdown from Power on what Curne brings to Baton Rouge.

Carius Curne‘s 40-yard dash is faster than the shuttle time from most offensive linemen,” Power said. “The Marion (Ark.) High standout posted some eye-popping testing numbers at college camps in addition to elite weight room numbers and rare acrobatic skills for a prospect of his size. It’s not surprising that college staffs view Curne as a top athlete on either side of the ball.”

  • 6-foot-4, 320 pounds
  • 33.5-inch arms, 9.5-inch hand
  • 4.81 second 40-yard dash, 4.3 second shuttle, 9’8″ broad jump at college camp (2023)
  • Claims a 420 pound bench press, 630 pound deadlift
  • Can do backflips
