The LSU football staff is putting together one of the most impressive recruiting hauls in recent program history, holding firm as a Top 3 class on the On3 Industry Rankings for the 2025 cycle.

The On3 Industry Rankings, a proprietary algorithm that compiles ratings and rankings from all four primary recruiting media services, uses a rolling average number of commits to make up the team recruiting rankings. That number currently sits at 17, meaning the 17 LSU commits factored into the On3 Industry Rankings are blue-chip prospects ranked as 4-stars or 5-stars. The Tigers currently have 24 total commitments.

LSU has three 5-stars and 16 4-stars committed, a group that includes a pair of On3’s Top 5 overall prospects, regardless of position.

Just as impressive: the Tigers have not just kept the fence up around Louisiana, but the Tigers have landed commitments from the No. 1 prospect in six different states.

Here’s the rundown on the LSU commits who head into their senior seasons as the top-ranked prospects in their home states.

5-star+ QB Bryce Underwood – No. 1 in Michigan

Underwood is not just the No. 1 prospect in Michigan. He’s the No. 1 prospect in the entire 2025 class, regardless of position. That makes him the top quarterback prospect in America, and he’s among the youngest prospects in the class given Underwood just turned 17 on August 19. Underwood has a chance to pass up Leonard Fournette as LSU’s highest-rated signee in the modern recruiting era. For LSU offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach Joe Sloan, it doesn’t get bigger than this.

5-star+ CB DJ Pickett – No. 1 in Florida

LSU secondary coach Corey Raymond got a massive win on the recruiting trail when Pickett announced his commitment to the Tigers in July. Pickett is the No. 1 recruit in Florida on the On3 Industry Rankings, and he checks in as the No. 1 cornerback and No. 3 overall prospect on On3. When it comes to instant impact cornerbacks, there’s none better than the 6-foot-4 standout out of the Sunshine State.

5-star RB Harlem Berry – No. 1 in Louisiana

LSU wants to lock down Louisiana, and the Tigers did just that when LSU running backs coach Frank Wilson reeled in a commitment from Berry in January. The No. 1 prospect in Louisiana has remained firm to the Tigers, and he’s got a chance to go wire-to-wire as On3’s No. 1 running back prospect in the 2025 class. Berry is the highest-ranked running back to come out of Louisiana since Leonard Fournette a decade ago.

4-star WR Derek Meadows – No. 1 in Nevada

While fans focused on 5-star wide receiver prospects who made official visits to LSU in June, the staff pulled off a surprise by reeling in an On3 Industry Top 10 wide receiver in Meadows – who is ranked as the No. 1 prospect in Utah entering his senior season at Bishop Gorman. At 6-foot-6, 205 pounds, Meadows is a big-bodied wideout with elite track times. While the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine (RPM) favored Notre Dame for most of his process, Meadows warmed up to LSU this offseason and popped for the Tigers in July.

4-star EDGE Damien Shanklin – No. 1 in Indiana

LSU defensive coordinator Blake Baker and defensive ends coach Kevin Peoples both joined LSU’s staff after coaching at Missouri the past two seasons, and relationships made with Shanklin carried over to their time in Baton Rouge. Shanklin trimmed his double-digit offer list down to LSU, Alabama and Ohio State, and the Tigers closed strong through his announcement after the Top 10 EDGE rusher silently committed to the staff.

4-star OL Carius Curne – No. 1 in Arkansas

Curne was once committed to Arkansas, but a visit to an LSU practice in March shook things up. Two days later, Curne reopened his process, and while there was buzz around programs like Ole Miss and the Razorbacks, LSU offensive line coach Brad Davis did what he does best: close on elite talent. Curne, who is On3’s No. 2 interior offensive lineman and a Top 30 overall prospect (meaning he remains in 5-star range as the rankings expand to 32 5-stars), committed to LSU in June.
