LSU hosts South Carolina's No. 1 prospect
2025 Florence (S.C.) South Florence four-star defensive lineman Amare Adams is visiting LSU on Saturday, he announced on Twitter. He’s the top-ranked prospect in the state.
New LSU defensive line coach Jimmy Lindsey is turning up the heat on Adams, a familiar prospect for him having been at South Carolina before heading to Baton Rouge.
“Saturday will be my first time at LSU,” Adams told On3. “I can’t wait to see what the culture is like there. I am planning to get there for a game in the fall too, so I can’t wait for that either. Coach Jimmy Lindsey is there, so we already have a good relationship. He recruited me when he was at South Carolina, so it will be good to see him again.”
Alabama, Clemson, Georgia, Florida State, LSU, South Carolina and Tennessee are among the programs heavily involved with him early on. He told On3’s Chad Simmons he’s unsure of when he’d like a decision.

“I am not sure yet when I want to commit,” Adams said. “It will either be next summer before my senior season or right after my senior season. I am not sure. I know I want to take some official visits first. The schools I listed are the ones in my top group right now. Relationships will be the most important thing in my decision.”
He’s the No. 130 overall prospect and No. 13 defensive lineman in the 2025 On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. LSU’s now firmly in the mix, but hasn’t overtaken South Carolina on the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine just yet.
