A five-star talent from New Orleans, Louisiana, Chris Cenac named the final 12 schools in his recruitment on Friday afternoon and LSU made the cut. Cenac has 34 offers and is one of the biggest rising prospects in the 2025 class at 6-foot-10 with elite showings in multiple settings this summer.

His top 12 is Arkansas, Alabama, Auburn, Baylor, Houston, Kentucky, Louisville, LSU, Michigan State, Tennessee, Texas, and UConn.

He has yet to schedule any official visits, but both Houston and LSU have hosted him on unofficial visits. He tells Joe Tipton of On3 that he hopes to commit by January or February.

LSU and Houston have been the two programs recruiting Cenac for over a year now with most of the other schools jumping in the past few months after he showed out both in the Puma AAU circuit then again at the NBPA Top 100 camp. Cenac then announced he was leaving the state of Louisiana to play his senior season of high school basketball at Link Academy in Missouri.

Cenac rose from a fringe top 50 prospect to now the No. 5 prospect in the country on On3 and the No. 13 player in the On3 Industry Rankings.

LSU is working on setting an official visit date and remains one of the teams pressing for him throughout his recruitment.

“My relationship is good with the staff,” Cenac told On3 about LSU. “The whole staff reaches out pretty much all the time. They’re still building their program. I want to see this year what they do this year, with the team they have. They have great facilities down there. How up to date their facilities are stood out to me.”

LSU is currently the RPM leader, but there’s a long ways to go for Cenac before the school year begins. The Tigers have made significant strides in recruiting, getting the No. 13 class in the country last year with a trio of four-star prospects to add to the roster. Now, LSU and Matt McMahon have their sights on Cenac and making a huge splash this cycle among hefty competition from across the country.

For Cenac, his recruitment has taken off significantly recently, so the expectation is that he takes his time and gets a feel for all the schools interested in him before he makes his decision.

“I’m looking for a school that will develop me the most and help me get to the next level,” he told Shaw. “I’ll want to have a great relationship with the coaches, trust there. And I’ll want to be looking for an NBA type system, spreading the floor, playing four or five out. I’m open to any school around the country really, location won’t matter.”
