LSU inches closer to the No. 1 recruiting class for 2025
The LSU football staff landed a huge commitment on Wednesday evening when five-star running back Harlem Berry announced his commitment to the Tigers.
Berry is the No. 1 running back, the No. 1 prospect in Louisiana and the No. 11 overall prospect on the On3 Industry Rankings. The On3 Rankings peg Berry as the No. 1 running back, the No. 1 prospect in Louisiana and the No. 7 overall prospect in the cycle.
Berry’s commitments moves LSU from the No. 4 class up to the No. 2 class in the country, trailing only Georgia, on the On3 Industry Recruiting Rankings for the 2025 cycle.
The 2025 class is taking shape in Baton Rouge
With Berry on board, LSU has commitments from seven recruits in the 2025 cycle.
The commitment list is headlined by Duncanville (Texas) Five-Star Plus+ wide receiver Dakorien Moore, who committed to the Tigers over the Texas Longhorns. Moore and Berry give LSU verbal pledges from a pair of five-star prospects.
From there, LSU has stacked up Louisiana four-star recruits in University High linebacker Keylan Moses, Sulphur tight end JD LaFleur, New Orleans Isidore Newman interior offensive lineman Brett Bordelon and New Orleans Edna Karr wide receiver TaRon Francis, with each checking in as On3’s highest-ranked prospect at their position in Louisiana. Loganville (Ga.) Grayson three-star cornerback Jaylen Bell rounds out the seven-man commitment list.
Will LSU soon take over the No. 1 class in America?
LSU currently sits in the No. 2 spot on the On3 Industry Recruiting Rankings for the 2025 cycle, but the Tigers might not occupy the position for long.

Florida to retain head coach
On Saturday, Belleville (Mich.) Five-Star Plus+ quarterback Bryce Underwood, the No. 1 overall prospect in the 2025 class, will announce his college choice. The Tigers are battling the likes of Michigan, Alabama, Penn State and others for the top quarterback recruit in America.
Underwood made a number of visits to Baton Rouge this offseason, then took in LSU’s win over Auburn in Tiger Stadium this fall.
Now, LSU quarterbacks coach Joe Sloan and the Tigers are 48 hours out from potentially reeling in Underwood and jumping past Georgia for the No. 1 class in the country. LSU is the favorite on the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine heading into Underwood’s announcement.
LSU finished with a Top 5 recruiting class during head coach Brian Kelly’s first full recruiting cycle in 2023. LSU’s 2024 recruiting class currently ranks No. 7 on the On3 Industry Recruiting Rankings, while On3 ranks the haul as the No. 4 class in the country.
