LSU lands commitment from 4-star DB Jacob Bradford
Louisiana 4-star defensive back Jacob Bradford assured Thursday evening that his “permanent decision” would be coming soon.
And LSU fans had to wait fewer than 48 hours from the 2025 Catholic (Baton Rouge) defensive back’s backing off a prior Houston pledge that evening to hear his hometown commitment Saturday.
Bradford shared his decision to play for the Tigers during his second visit to the program in as many weeks, this time among the loaded guest list for the Ole Miss game.
He becomes the 27th member of the Tigers’ class, including one of at least five defensive backs — all ranked as four-star prospects or better — and 11 Louisiana natives. LSU’s class is ranked No. 3 by the On3 Industry Football Team Recruiting Rankings for the 2025 class.
The 5-foot-11, 195-pound athlete brings versatility and physicality to the group and comes from a winning background at one of the state’s most consistent championship contenders, including a 2023 Division-I Select title.

Bradford is ranked as a safety, has primarily played cornerback in high school and recently told the Bengal Tiger that while he is confident in and happy to play any role asked, his feel from conversations with coaches is that their initial vision seems to lean toward him working heavily at nickel.
His signing would mark LSU’s third scholarship signee from nearby Catholic High in four years, following wide receiver Shelton Sampson Jr. in 2023 and offensive lineman Emery Jones Jr. in 2022.
Young brother Blaine Bradford, a safety for the Bears, is a top-10 national prospect in On3’s latest 2026 rankings with a top five of LSU, Oregon, Ohio State, Notre Dame and Alabama announced this summer.
