2025 Florence (S.C.) South Florence four-star defensive lineman Amare Adams included LSU in his Top 7 schools, he announced on Twitter on Tuesday. He’s the top-ranked prospect in South Carolina.

New LSU defensive line coach Jimmy Lindsey is turning up the heat on Adams, a familiar prospect for him having been at South Carolina before heading to Baton Rouge. Adams visited Baton Rouge in June with his father, Stan.

“I am planning to get there for a game in the fall too, so I can’t wait for that either,” Adams told On3. “Coach Jimmy Lindsey is there, so we already have a good relationship. He recruited me when he was at South Carolina, so it will be good to see him again.”

Alabama, ClemsonGeorgiaFlorida StateLSUSouth Carolina and Tennessee are the top schools for him. He told On3’s Chad Simmons he’s unsure of when he’d like a decision.

“I am not sure yet when I want to commit,” Adams said earlier this summer. “It will either be next summer before my senior season or right after my senior season. I am not sure. I know I want to take some official visits first. The schools I listed are the ones in my top group right now. Relationships will be the most important thing in my decision.”

He’s the No. 130 overall prospect and No. 14 defensive lineman in the 2025 On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. LSU’s now firmly in the mix, but hasn’t overtaken South Carolina on the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine just yet.
