LSU makes top schools for QB Julian Lewis
LSU made the Top 8 for Carrollton (Ga.) quarterback Julian Lewis, he announced on Wednesday when he named his top schools. The group also includes Alabama, Georgia, USC, Florida State, Texas A&M, Oregon and Ohio State.
“I started visiting schools when I was in 7th grade so I’ve seen a lot of programs,” Lewis told On3’s Chad Simmons. “I’m not a huge fan of this process, I just love to play football. People think I’m joking when I say that, but visits take up a lot of time. Now I’ll only visit these schools which will make things easier. It wasn’t tough to cut my list because I know what type of coaches I want to play for at the next level.”
LSU quarterbacks coach Joe Sloan has made him a big priority, having him on campus multiple times for visits already.
“Coach Sloan is my guy. I really like him and his plan for me as a player,” Lewis said. “I don’t think many schools can play with Alabama and Georgia, but they can. If I went to LSU we would be loaded with guys in my class. That’s attractive because there’s only a few schools that I know I can build a top class at.”
Class rankings haven’t hit the 2026 class yet, but Lewis will be one of the top-ranked signal callers nationally. In-state Georgia leads the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine.

He also shined at the Under Armour Atlanta Camp this spring. He helped Carrollton to a state championship game appearance in 2022, throwing for 4,118 yards and 48 touchdowns with 12 interceptions.
“Julian Lewis has been a well-known name in recruiting circles since he was in middle school,” On3 director of scouting Charles Power wrote. “The 6-foot-0.5, 180-pounder stood out in a relatively deep quarterback group on Sunday. Lewis looked extremely comfortable while throwing in his high school program’s indoor facility. He was among the more accurate quarterbacks in attendance, both in drills and 1-on-1’s. The vast majority of his passes were on target over the course of the afternoon.
“Lewis is technically polished and throws a clean, tight spiral. He had no issues fitting the ball into tight windows during 1-on-1’s and delivered some of the best throws we saw in the session. While there’s a ways to go with Lewis and any 2026 prospect, the touted passer does look to be ahead of the curve from a skill perspective at this point in time.”
