LSU MBB five-star target Chris Cenac sets commitment date
LSU 2025 target Chris Cenac has set his commitment date for Tuesday, Nov. 26 at 3:30 p.m. CT with a final seven of Arkansas, Auburn, Baylor, Houston, Kentucky, LSU, and Tennessee.
Cenac has taken official visits to six of those seven, with Baylor as the exception. The last official visit he took was to LSU on Nov. 9, returning to his home state one final time before his decision. Cenac is from New Orleans, but is spending his senior season at Link Academy in Missouri and has taken several unofficial visits to LSU over the past few years.
LSU’s push to keep Cenac home
The Bengal Tiger caught up with Cenac on the Monday after his visit and was able to talk about his visit and everything that went into it as the 6-foot-10, top 10 prospect in the 2025 class nears a decision.
“It was a great visit. I liked everything they had to offer to me,” Cenac told the Bengal Tiger. “[I could tell] they are fired up about recruiting me, that’s what coach McMahon always tells me. They were explaining to me how much they want me and want to help me get to the next level.”
Cenac has been set on going to a program that could help him grow his game and get him ready for the NBA and Matt McMahon’s offensive style allowing his forwards to handle the ball and shoot is appealing to the five-star prospect.

To make the official visit weekend even bigger, LSU was able to bring in its three current 2025 commits on unofficial visits to join Cenac and further make him feel comfortable. Cenac has prior relationships with all three and talks with them often via text.
“It was fun,” Cenac said of having them there. “We all had relationships prior with me, Mazi [Mosley] and Matt [Gilhool] being teammates at top 100 and with me and Jalen [Reece] already being close.”
Along with those three, he was joined by a ton of family and friends on the trip who LSU was also looking to impress and leave with a strong impression. At the football game, Cenac also got to see LSU’s star power in full force, with several NFL and NBA stars, and Louisiana legends that paint a picture of what it could be like if he stayed home.
Being that close to home remains LSU’s biggest advantage. In a year where he’s playing his high school basketball in Missouri and across the country, Cenac was able to make the short drive back home to New Orleans on Sunday night and be with his family who would be able to come to all of his games and see him every step of the way.
