Wofford RHP transfer Camden Wicker remains uncommitted, per reports
LSU appeared to land a commitment from Wofford right-handed pitcher transfer Camden Wicker, according to D1Baseball on Monday. Not so fast though, according to multiple reports. Wicker remains uncommitted.
Fellow Wofford transfer Zac Cowan is indeed transferring to play for Jay Johnson though.
That makes three transfers headed to Baton Rouge. USF pitcher Chandler Dorsey and Indiana State transfer catcher and infielder Luis Hernandez are the other transfers so far.
Wicker, a 6-6 freshman, had a 4.28 ERA in 75.2 innings pitched over 17 appearances with 10 starts, striking out 57 and walking 24. Against the Tigers in the Chapel Hill regional, he struck out six batters.
LSU head coach Jay Johnson is navigating players making decisions on their futures as well. Hernandez gives the Tigers a strong option at multiple spots.

“Obviously, there are some situations where guys are in between pro baseball and coming back,” Johnson said this week. “All of those guys will be welcomed back and have a place on our roster. Even with that, we have a lot of work to do to have the team we want to have. It will have a lot of high impact. I’m not so worried about the numbers. That’s where my head is at in terms of building the roster moving forward and at a place like LSU you can do that. It’s really fluid right now.”
