LSU offers John Curtis WR Michael Turner
The LSU football staff has extended another in-state offer for the 2024 class, this time making the move on John Curtis wide receiver Michael Turner.
On Saturday, Turner returned to LSU for the program’s Elite Camp – his second LSU camp visit of the summer – and worked out for the staff.
After going through drills, testing and a number of workouts, Turner got the good news he’d been waiting on.
An offer from the Tigers was now on the table.
LSU staff dials in on Turner, makes the offer
The John Curtis rising senior worked through a number of individual drills before 20-plus minutes of pass-catching drills, catching passes from the nation’s No. 3 2025 quarterback in Florida’s Carter Smith.
On hand to watch Turner during the workout: head coach Brian Kelly, offensive coordinator Mike Denbrock, wide receivers coach Cortez Hankton and more.
“I went through the workout, and at first I didn’t think anybody was watching, then I turned around and there was like five of them watching me,” Turner said.
After the morning workout, Kelly brought Turner into his office and extended him a verbal scholarship.

“He said he wanted to see me in a personal workout,” Turner said. “It was amazing to get the offer. It was one I always wanted, for sure.”
What’s up next for the John Curtis speedy WR
Turner recently made an official visit to Georgia Tech, which was his first this offseason.
Turner said LSU will receive an official visit, while Nebraska will get the rising senior to campus this week. Florida, Ole Miss and Alabama are among the other SEC teams he’s heard from this summer.
“I have a visit to Nebraska from Monday to Wednesday,” Turner said, adding that he would keep the visit on the books. “I also have an Alabama camp on Saturday. But (LSU) told me they want to get me back on June 23rd, though.”
Turner, the On3 Industry Rankings’ No. 68-rated wide receiver in the country, is the second Louisiana 2024 wide receiver to earn an offer from LSU this summer.
Terrebonne’s Kylan Billiot also landed a verbal offer from the staff after a workout, and he has since gone public with his commitment to the Tigers.
