LSU offers Ruston two-sport prospect Ahmad Hudson
The LSU football staff has sent out verbal offers to just four prospects in the 2027 recruiting class, but there’s now a Louisiana recruit on the shortlist.
On Saturday, LSU Director of Recruiting Jon Randall Belton dialed up the Ruston High staff with news that one of the program’s freshman football players now had on offer from the Tigers.
Ahmad Hudson, who is beginning his first year of high school as a wide receiver at Ruston, landed the verbal scholarship just as the regular season gets rolling in the Bayou State.
“I was very excited to know that LSU wanted me to come to their school,” Hudson said.
A two-sport athlete with LSU roots
While he’s only a freshman, Hudson already checks in at 6-foot-5, 200 pounds.
He’s set to be an early contributor for both Ruston’s football and basketball teams, getting the opportunity to suit up in both sports for head coaches Jerrod Baugh and Ryan Bond, respectively.
Hudson’s LSU offer was his first from a college football program. In June, he landed his first college basketball offer, which came from Louisiana Tech just weeks after the end of his eighth grade year.
Hudson is the son of former LSU basketball player Antonio Hudson, who suited up for the Tigers from 2002-05. He landed on the All-SEC Tournament team in his first and final seasons in purple-and-gold, and Hudson averaged double-digit points in three of his four years of college basketball.

Offer No. 4 for the 2027 class
Given 2027 recruits are just now beginning their high school careers, there are just four prospects around the country who can claim an offer from the Tigers.
Hudson is the lone Louisiana recruit from the crop of high school freshmen with an offer, with the others coming from Texas and Florida.
He’s the third wide receiver to grab a verbal scholarship from LSU, joining the Lone Star State’s Ethan Feaster and Deshawn Dewalt. Feaster will suit up for DeSoto this fall, while Dewalt is at Lancaster.
On defense, the lone 2027 prospect with an offer is Florida’s T.K. Cunningham out of Miami-Central.
