LSU offensive lineman Marlon Martinez plans to enter the NCAA Transfer Portal, he announced on Twitter on Friday.

“I’d like to give a huge thank you to all the coaches and staff at LSU for all of the opportunities given to me throughout my years here,” Martinez wrote. “I also appreciate all of the fans and support they have shown me. I also want to thank my teammates for being there for me and creating memories I’ll cherish forever. After careful thought and consideration, I have decided to enter the transfer portal as a graduate transfer.”

Across four seasons with the Tigers, Martinez has appeared in 45 games with four starts. He’ll have two years to play one season of college football remaining.

As a recruit, he was the No. 375 overall prospect in the 2020 class, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He also ranked as the nation’s No. 15 offensive lineman and the No. 58 recruit in Florida.

Martinez the latest to enter NCAA Transfer Portal

As of December 8th, 1,452 FBS players have entered the Transfer Portal. Martinez was the seventh LSU player to enter the portal.

While the NCAA Transfer Portal database is private, the On3 Network has streamlined the reporting process tracking player movement. If you find yourself asking, ‘How can I track transfer portal activity?’ our well-established network of reporters and contacts across college athletics keeps you up to speed in several ways, from articles written about players as they enter and exit the transfer portal or find their new destination, to our social media channels, to the On3 Transfer Portal.
