Jacksonville (Fla.) Trinity Christian Academy four-star quarterback Colin Hurley is back in Baton Rouge, having driven up to LSU for an extended stay during spring break.

He’s fresh off a strong performance at Under Armour Orlando, where he earned a top performer nod from On3. He’s excited for his time around the LSU program.

“It’s been great. Working twice as hard since reclassing so I’m just putting in a lot of work,” Hurley told On3. “Not doing too much, keeping the fun in it, but I’m honestly to get on campus this week. Drive up Tuesday, spend the whole week there. I think I’m going to catch a baseball game, have some fun, watch some spring practices, might throw a bit with some recruits at a random park.

“Spend quality time with the coaches, see QB development. It’s a National Championship winning team coming so I just want to see how much work they put in out there.”

LSU landed a pair of commitments from the first Junior Day in March. Colin Hurley senses the momentum the staff is building with this class.

“Honestly, it feels great,” Hurley said of being in the 2024 LSU class. “Get to recruit the best guys that want to come to the best program. Guys that want to contribute into the program, be the best on and off the field, be a leader in the community. I’m honestly excited. I really feel like the momentum is there. I feel like we’re having a strong push right now.

“LSU came off a great season, great head coach and a lot people want to play for a winner. I feel like we have the best coach there for that.”

Colin Hurley shines in Orlando

At the Under Armour Orlando camp, Hurley shined in a big way, On3 director of scouting Charles Power said.

“Colin Hurley looked like the top arm talent on hand at Under Armour Orlando. It was not a loaded quarterback group on Sunday, but Hurley made some throws that were not replicated by his fellow signal callers. Hurley showed a strong arm with the ability to drive the ball vertically and over the middle of the field.

“The 6-foot-0.5, 210-pounder’s pass-first skill set lines up well in the camp setting, accentuating his strengths. Originally a 2025 prospect, Hurley reclassified into the 2024 cycle and committed to LSU in November.”

Now, Colin Hurley will spend more time at his future home. According to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies, Hurley ranks as the No. 213 overall prospect and No. 14 quarterback in the country.
