LSU QB commit Colin Hurley shines en route to district title
LSU quarterback commit Colin Hurley led his Trinity Christian Academy team to a 40-9 win over Providence School on Friday, capturing a District 1-1M Championship.
Hurley completed 20-of-24 for 287 yards and three touchdowns. The Trinity defense also added two interceptions on the night.
The win came a day after LSU offensive coordinator Mike Denbrock swung through Jacksonville, Fla. to check in on the future LSU signal caller. After Hurley’s done pushing for a state championship, he’ll enroll in Baton Rouge in January.
“It feels good,” Hurley told Juston Lewis of the Jacksonville Florida Times-Union after the game. “Shaky season, not knowing where we’re probably going to be put in the playoffs. But after this game it really solidified where our spot is. “It just feels good to come out here and get a win against a good Providence team.”

Hurley is the No. 312 overall prospect in the 2024 class, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He ranks as the nation’s No. 19 quarterback and the No. 42 prospect in state of Florida.
It was a huge week for LSU quarterback recruiting. While Denbrock checked in on Hurley, LSU quarterbacks coach Joe Sloan was around the country checking in on 2025 targets and beyond.
Sloan saw 2025 five-star quarterback George MacIntyre suit up for Brentwood Academy on Thursday before seeing 2025 five-star quarterback Bryce Underwood start another playoff game on Friday. Both are the two top targets for Sloan next recruiting cycle.
