LSU running back Josh Williams is set to take the field one more time Sunday in the Tropical Bowl All-Star Game, held at Municipal Stadium in Daytona Beach, Florida.

Williams is one of 10 Tigers invited to showcase their talents in postseason All-Star games, representing LSU players who’ve exhausted their college eligibility. Next week, three Tigers (Bradyn Swinson, Zy Alexander and Greg Penn) will participate in the East-West Shrine Bowl, followed by six more suiting up for the Senior Bowl (Sai’vion Jones, Garrett Dellinger, Miles Frazier, Emery Jones, Mason Taylor and Kyren Lacy) in two weeks.

On Sunday, Williams will play for the National Team, wearing jersey No. 39.

Kickoff for the 10th annual Tropical Bowl is at 10 a.m. CT. The game can be live streamed here.

Williams’ journey at LSU is nothing short of inspiring and quite rare in today’s world of college football. Unlike the norm these days, Williams spent all six years in Baton Rouge and never hit the transfer portal. A former walk-on, he joined the Tigers in 2017 and was part of the legendary 2019 national championship team. He earned a scholarship in 2020 and became a reliable contributor on offense, starting 17 games at running back. Over his 60-game career, Williams amassed 1,494 rushing yards and 17 touchdowns while catching 31 passes for 263 yards.

Off the field, Williams excelled in the classroom, earning SEC Academic Honor Roll honors four times and graduating with two degrees, including an MBA in December 2023.

Williams made his mark in some of LSU’s most memorable moments this season, including scoring the game-winning touchdown in a 36-33 comeback victory over South Carolina. He rushed for 90 yards and two touchdowns against Vanderbilt and closed out his college career with 42 yards and a score in LSU’s 44-31 Texas Bowl win over Baylor.

As Williams suits up for the Tropical Bowl, keep an eye out for No. 39 as he takes his next steps toward a professional football career and represents LSU.
