2023 North Crowley (Tex.) tight end and LSU signee Ka’Morreun Pimpton finishes in the Top 100 of the On3 rankings. The move of almost 50 spots up comes as the final On300 rankings were released Tuesday.

The 6-6 tight end was the No. 6 tight end in the country for On3, but now ranks as the No. 4 tight end. He moved up from No. 135 overall to No. 88 overall.

Pimpton had a strong week at the All-American Bowl in San Antonio. The four-star prospect got a chance to show why he blew up as a recruit this fall.

“It’s been great,” Pimpton told On3. “Definitely getting to meet some new people, interact with some new people and compete against new people, 4-star, 5-star and being able to expose my talent to people of that high caliber, it’s just great. Competing and doing what I do. Be crisp and showcase that I can do (all that I can do.)”

As a senior, Ka’Morreun Pimpton appeared in 12 games and made 57 catches for 914 yards and 17 touchdowns. He’ll enroll at LSU in June.

Brian Kelly breaks down Ka’Morreun Pimpton

When LSU offered Pimpton, he was committed to Vanderbilt at that point. LSU pressed for him as his dominant senior year continued. What stands out to Brian Kelly is his athleticism and willingness to play the tight end spot how LSU wants him to.

“I don’t know that I’ve had somebody with his raw athletic ability,” Kelly said after the early signing period. “Certainly, there’s work to be done as it relates to the physicality of the position and whether he’s going to be an in-line (tight end). We want to develop our tight ends as complete tight ends where they can do everything, where they’re not just the guy that you can split out. We want them to be able to get in there and be part of a blocking scheme as well.

“He’s committed to that and that’s one thing that we talked about, my background in developing tight ends and Coach (Mike) Denbrock is incredible. (There are a) number of tight ends that he (Denbrock) has developed. We wanted that for him and that resonated with him. Then obviously, the other skills that he brings you just can’t teach right? I mean his catch radius, his ability to win in one-on-one matchups is going to be exciting to be able to develop.”
