LSU signs 4-star OT Tyree Adams
Another Louisiana native is staying home for college.
On Wednesday, St. Augustine four-star offensive tackle Tyree Adams signed with the Tigers.
The New Orleans native is ranked by the On3 Consensus as the No. 14 offensive tackle in the country, the No. 11 prospect in Louisiana and the No. 194 overall prospect in the 2023 cycle.
He’s ranked by On3 as the No. 10 offensive tackle in the class. He checks in as the No. 6 prospect in Louisiana and the No. 126 overall recruit in the country.
Adams joins a four-man offensive line haul with fellow Louisiana offensive tackles Zalance Heard and a pair of Georgia natives in DJ Chester and Paul Mubenga.
Ole Miss, Florida State and others tried to flip Adams away from LSU, but the Louisiana standout remained firm with his commitment to the Tigers.
“The home atmosphere,” Adams said of choosing LSU. “How many coaches are from here and they truly understand me and where we come from isn’t easy, how we live and all that. Plus, with coach Frank Wilson, coach Cortez Hankton, coach Carter Sheridan, they all came from my high school. Born and raised in New Orleans, Louisiana so they understand what I go through and the tough times that I may have. Connect with them on that feels great.”
Coming off his LSU official visit earlier this month, Adams said he knew the Tigers would be the final choice.

“It was everything I expected just from meeting the players, seeing how they love LSU, to really communicating with the coaches and their family. I really loved the visit and just being with some of my future teammates was also great,” Adams told On3. “LSU is really family. From seeing the players together to the coaches. The coaches love the players and really want to see them succeed. Not even just on the football field, but in life.”
Offensive line coach Brad Davis and head coach Brian Kelly are excited to see him get to work this summer.
“As far as with coach Brad, he wants me to just come in and work. He’s never afraid to play a freshman,” he said. “With me coming in, seeing where I’m at, the progression that I’m going to make and to see if I’m ready. They see me as an offensive tackle. It’s really easy and simple, just come in and go to work each and every day. Give it 110 percent. Coach Kelly, he is just ready to see me as a Tiger.”
On3 Scouting Report
Patient and powerful offensive line prospect that possesses a developmental, all-around skillset. Measures in around 6-foot-5 and weighs close to 285 pounds with a 10-inch hand and 6-foot-8 wingspan. Will add necessary weight throughout his frame with ease in order to excel in college. Has a clean kick slide in pass protection. Shoots his hands and locks on once engaged in running and passing game. Explosiveness jumps off the tape as well as his ability to stay square and balanced. Jumped a 28-inch vertical and ran an electronically-timed 7.63 3-cone this spring heading into his senior season. Has considerable upside due to movement skills combined with his build. Fine tuning by collegiate coaching could send his stock through the roof. One the younger end of the spectrum for the 2023 class.
