2024 Natchitoches Central (La.) offensive lineman Joseph Cryer committed to LSU over the summer, and he made it official by signing with the Tigers on Wednesday during the Early Signing Period.
“It was amazing,” Cryer told On3 following his official visit earlier this month. “Felt great to be back home. Ready to get to work in a few weeks. I liked just being around the staff and the guys. Bonding some more before the real work comes.”
LSU offensive line coach Brad Davis and head coach Brian Kelly both spoke with Cryer about the expectations for when he hits campus.
“That if I come in and work, it’s there for me,” Cryer said. “Just come in and just compete. Coach Kelly said the same thing. Love him. Great coach and even better guy.”
With his fellow commits on campus, Cryer got a chance to sit down and enjoy watching Jayden Daniels win the Heisman Trophy. Now he’s looking forward to signing early on the 20th and making it official.

“I mean I’m close with all of them already so it was just good to see some again,” he said. “We had a Heisman watch party and some good dinner at the stadium. Feels great (to sign) and it’ll be surreal.”
Cryer is the No. 68 interior offensive lineman in the 2024 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.
On3 national scout Cody Bellaire sees the physicality Davis sees in Cryer on tape.
“Joseph Cryer is an ass-kicker. Plain and simple,” Bellaire said. “He is one of the simpler projections when it comes to his future because the measurables aren’t glistening, but when you put the ball down and line it up you know exactly what you’re getting from him.
“Cryer projects to the interior offensive line at the next level and he plays with a mean streak on every snap. Tenacious would be an understatement as he looks to bury defenders consistently loading up the stat sheet with pancakes. He’s an enforcer in the run game that wins with raw power and grit.”
