Where do things stand with the Louisiana four-star prospect?
McBryde coming off a visit to LSU
The Denham Springs defensive back returned to Baton Rouge this weekend for another visit at LSU, which gave him the chance to spend time around plenty of the staff.
The charge was led by names like head coach Brian Kelly, safeties coach Kerry Cooks, quarterbacks coach and area recruiter Joe Sloan, Director of Player Personnel Will Redmond and Director of Player Development Jordan Arcement.
“(Kelly) was just saying how he wants me to come to LSU. I like how he goes about his business and how he handles everything as a coach,” McBryde said. “Coach Cooks is a very intelligent man in his gameplan, which is something I like. Sloan is a good man to talk to. He’s also a very good coach as well.”
Tennessee and Ole Miss join LSU as a few of the Southeastern Conference teams recruiting McBryde heavily this spring.

With McBryde on the verge of revealing his college commitment, it’s worth pointing out the Louisiana four-star prospect’s recent rise in the rankings.
On Monday, On3 updated the Top 300 for the 2024 class – and McBryde made his debut.
Now, McBryde is a four-star and Top 200 overall prospect, landing at No. 194 overall in the On300 released on Monday. He’s also ranked as the No. 19 safety in the nation and No. 5 prospect in Louisiana. According to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies, McBryde’s the No. 210 overall prospect in the nation and No. 18 safety nationally.
