LSU targets, Louisiana natives among Under Armour Dallas Camp top performers

The Under Armour Next camp series isn’t scheduled to hit Louisiana until March 9, but already saw some notable representation from the state this weekend in Dallas.
Four Louisiana natives have been among the top performers reported Sunday at Melissa High School — including an LSU commit, two targets currently holding offers from the Tigers and another talented prospect being recruited by the home-state team.
Here are a few of the notes from the event, on those four players and more, as the UA Next circuit begins to ramp up.
QB Peyton Houston (2027), Evangel Christian
The highly touted Shreveport passer was announced as the quarterback MVP of Sunday’s event. “Pop” has been among the headliners of Louisiana’s talented 2027 class at the position, became one of LSU’s first offers in the class in September and wrapped up a prolific sophomore season with Class 5A all-state honors in December. Houston once again stood out in his latest outing, “lighting it up all afternoon,” according to On3’s Cody Bellaire.
“His ability to get the ball up and out so quickly and efficiently while still maintaining quality zip has always been so impressive given his stature,” Bellaire said. “Plus, his ability to maintain velocity even when on the move and working off-platform is a testament to his natural arm action and whip. He had plenty of splash throws throughout the afternoon and was consistently accurate throughout positional drills. Would like to see him throw with more oomph on balls up the seam and deep outs but that should come with more physical development.”
QB Malachi Zeigler (2027), Benton
Another talented Shreveport area quarterback hasn’t always garnered the regional and national headlines of Houston or Dunham star Elijah Haven, but Zeigler’s recent performances on the 7v7 and camp circuit are showing why he’s another key piece of Louisiana’s loaded 2027 class. The Benton standout has as big an arm as any quarterback in the state, which paired with his consistent performance Sunday earned him the slight edge from Bellaire as his top quarterback of the day.
“Zeigler does such a good job when it comes to understanding when to drive the ball and when to throw with touch,” Bellaire said. “Plus, his ability to push the ball vertically with the necessary arc is phenomenal. I felt that throughout the afternoon Zeigler was able to throw off-platform and within structure the best of anyone out on the field. His physical and athletic gifts paired with his polished arm action and consistent accuracy made him the top QB in attendance at UA Dallas.”

WR Kenny Darby (2026), Airline
Two of the top seven positional MVPs at Sunday’s even hailed from Louisiana, as the state’s leading pass-catcher took top billing among the wide receivers. Darby received his LSU offer at the end of the regular season of his state-leading and all-state junior campaign of 100 catches for 1,764 yards and 24 touchdowns and needed just three days to announce his commitment as one of the Tigers’ first of the 2026 class. Darby doubled down in late January announcing he was shutting down his recruitment and focusing on his development, his senior season and the Tigers.
WR Ethan Feaster (2026), DeSoto (Texas)
“Boobie” was among another half-dozen All-America Game invites announced by Under Armour following the event. Feaster grew up in Louisiana before moving to Texas around middle-school age where he has ascended into one of the nation’s top prospects — initially for the 2027 cycle before his recent announcement he would reclassify to 2026. He also shared with On3 his plays to hit USC (June 6), LSU (June 20), Texas and Texas A&M among his upcoming official visits.
“Definitely just the longevity of receivers they produced from years ago to now,” Feaster told Steve Wiltfong. “When you got Malik Nabers and Brian Thomas but then you still got OBJ in the league. The longevity for sure.… Coach (Cortez) Hankton he’s a coach you really want to be a round. He’s a coach that’s going to keep it 100 with you at all times and when you need guidance he’s going to be there for you.”
2026 DB Donovan Webb (2026), Panther Creek (Texas)
The versatile Panther Creek (Frisco, Texas) defensive back earned MVP honors at the position after reportedly working at corner most of the event. Webb announced an LSU offer Jan. 21 after a conversation with Hankton.
WR Zion Robinson (2026), Mansfield (Texas)
The long, lean pass-catcher was among the newly announced Under Armour All-America Game invites Sunday. Robinson announced an LSU offer Jan. 21 after a conversation with Hankton.
