LSU's Hailey Van Lith will transfer to TCU (USA Today)

LSU transfer and former Louisville women’s basketball player Hailey Van Lith has committed to TCU, per multiple reports.

2024-25 will be Van Lith’s fifth and final college season after beginning her career at Louisville, spending three years with the Cardinals.

She averaged 11 points per game in her freshman season in 2021, when the Cards went 26-4 and advanced to the Elite Eight. In 2022, UL went 29-5 and made another Elite Eight, this time winning to advance to the Final Four where they lost to South Carolina. But Van Lith was the leading scorer on that group at just over 14 points a contest.

In 2023, Louisville struggled by their standings, losing 12 total games and finishing just fourth in the ACC. Van Lith averaged 19 points per game.

Van Lith transferred into LSU to join the reigning national champions ahead of the 2023-24 season. The Tigers were strong again, earning a 3-seed but falling short of a repeat after dropping an Elite Eight matchup against Caitlin Clark and Iowa.

When Van Lith entered the transfer portal last offseason, she was one of the most coveted players out there. LSU was able to secure her commitment and fresh off a national championship, the hype surrounding the Tigers was through the roof.

In 33 games at LSU, Van Lith tested out the point guard position and averaged 11.6 points, 2.4 rebounds, and 3.6 assists per game. Her scoring numbers were significantly down compared to her previous two years with the Louisville Cardinals, but Van Lith’s assists were at a career-best rate.
