The LSU Tigers take on the UCLA Bruins as heavy favorites inside Tiger Stadium Saturday afternoon on ABC. For Brian Kelly’s Tigers, it’s an opportunity to make a statement in a marquee matchup in their home state.

LSU came back on the road against South Carolina to win last week. Kelly said this week that his team has plenty to correct, but he was happy they came back to beat the Gamecocks.

“I think you have to look at it from this perspective,” Kelly said. “Their work has been so good and they know they’ve prepared so well, their concern is they haven’t played they want to play. They were still able to overcome so many mistakes against a really good football team. That really built a lot of confidence in the group this week.”

UCLA head coach DeShaun Foster was complimentary of LSU’s play so far this season when meeting with the media.

“They’ve got some talent,” he said. “The quarterback’s really good, those two edges are special — I’ll say the D-line is special. You know, so this is a good team. They’re ranked 16 or whatever, you know, they’re in the top 20. It’s a good program, historical program, and we’re just looking forward to Death Valley and getting to play out there.”

Saturday marks the Bruins’ first visit to Tiger Stadium and the second meeting between the two programs.
