LSU women’s basketball enters the NCAA Tournament as a No. 3 seed in Kim Mulkey’s second year at the helm. It’s the second straight year where the Tigers received a three seed and will be hosting the first two rounds of their NCAA tournament.

LSU drew 14-seed Hawaii (18-14) in the first round which is set to be played on Friday. The 6 and 11 seeds coming to Baton Rouge will be 6-seed Michigan (22-9) and 11-seed UNLV (31-2)

After a 28-2 season, including a 15-1 record in the SEC, LSU’s only losses this year came against South Carolina on the road and Tennessee in the SEC Tournament. Mulkey’s team was ranked as high as No. 3 in the country before falling to the Gamecocks on Feb. 12.

Led by Angel Reese, LSU has become one of the best rebounding teams in the country while ending the regular season with the No. 2 offensive rating and No. 8 defensive rating in the country. Reese averages 23.4 points and 15.5 points per game on 54 percent shooting, as one of the most impactful players in the country.
