LSU Women's Basketball NCAA Tournament seeding, matchup

The path to another Final Four for Kim Mulkey and LSU Women’s Basketball is here as the Tigers punch another ticket into March Madness.
On Sunday night, the NCAA Women’s Basketball Tournament bracket was revealed on ESPN, and – once again – the LSU (28-5) was selected as a No. 3 seed by the tournament committee.
In the first round, LSU faces No. 14 seed San Diego State, a program that finished 25-9 on the season.
With a win, the Tigers will face the winner of No. 6 seed Florida State (23-8) and No. 11 George Mason (27-5) in the second round for the chance to return to the Sweet 16.
LSU will play in the Spokane Regional, which features No. 1 seed UCLA (30-2) and No. 2 seed North Carolina State (26-6). The Bruins are the No. 1 overall seed in this year’s tournament.
LSU will host the first two rounds of the NCAA Tournament for the fourth consecutive year. The Tigers were a No. 3 seed for each of the first three seasons of Mulkey’s time at LSU, which includes a National Championship win – the first basketball NCAA National Championship in program history.

As LSU gears up for the postseason, here’s a look at the regional matchups for the Tigers as the postseason pursuit for another National Championship begins this week.
LSU ended the SEC tournament with a seven-point loss to Texas on Saturday, March 8. Since the loss, the Tigers have been steadily working towards getting back to 100-percent and reaching the program’s potential in the postseason.
Flau’Jae Johnson has not played since LSU’s loss to Alabama on Feb. 27, recovering from shin inflammation, but she will be good to go for the tournament per Kim Mulkey.
Aneesah Morrow is also coming back from a bruised foot she re-injured against Texas in the SEC title game, but the expectation is that she’s also back for the tournament and good to go. LSU will have all of its weapons available in the biggest games of the year as we enter the final stretch of this 2025 season.
