Cornerback Zy Alexander and tight end Mason Taylor continued LSU’s presence at this week’s NFL Combine with their participation Friday in Indianapolis.

Taylor didn’t take part in testing events, but measured in at 6-foot-5 1/8 and 251 pounds with 32 1/4-inch arms and a 78 3/4-inch wingspan and impressed with his on-field drill work.

“Everything he does is smooth and natural,” an NFL Network commentator said of the Tigers’ record-setting pass-catcher. “He’s polished as a route-runner, understands how to work back to the quarterback. He tracks it well.”

Alexander, the former Loreauville star, measured in at 6-foot-1 3/8 and 187 pounds with 31-inch arms and a 77 1/2 inch wing span.

The height and wing span were 10th and 15th, respectively, among 55 defensive backs with available measurements at the event.

Alexander emphasized to reporters Thursday he views himself as a well-rounded prospect at the position.

“Just overall, I’m a complete player,” he said. “Not just a long corner. I could run. I could tackle. I’ve got ball skills. Just overall a complete player.”

But Alexander had a tough afternoon in terms of his testing numbers relative to the rest of his position group.

His 40-yard dash and vertical and broad jumps all ranked near the bottom of the cornerbacks who participated, with the highlight being a 10-yard split more near the middle of the group — showcasing better initial burst than long speed.

No LSU players will participate in the Combine’s on-field action on Saturday.

Offensive linemen Will Campbell, Garrett Dellinger, Miles Frazier and Emery Jones Jr. are all scheduled for Sunday.
